The Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program has been instrumental in providing a better quality of life for more than 500,000 beneficiaries, whose record-high levels of viral suppression are due to the success of the program.

Hoyer (MD-05), Senators Ben Cardin (D-MD) and Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), and Congressmen Dutch Ruppersberger (MD-02), John Sarbanes (MD-03), Kweisi Mfume (MD-07), Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01), Anthony G. Brown (MD-04), Jamie Raskin (MD-08), and David Trone (MD-06) urged President Joe Biden to approve the State of Maryland’s request for a presidential disaster declaration due to damage from the Sept. 1 tornadoes and flash flooding from Tropical Depression Ida. Anne Arundel County, Cecil County, and the City of Annapolis bore the brunt of the damage; each declared a state of emergency. At least 150 homes and businesses in Maryland were affected by this storm.
