This morning, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer met virtually with the CEO of the Greater Washington Partnership, JB Holston, and members of the Greater Washington Partnership, to discuss the historic regional benefits of the bipartisan infrastructure law, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, for families across Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Today, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) joined GSA Administrator Robin Carnahan, Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm, County Executive Angela Alsobrooks, and New Carrollton Mayor Phelecia Nembhard for a tour and press availability at the IRS New Carrollton Headquarters to underscore how the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Build Back Better Act will create jobs and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in communities nationwide.

Hoyer (MD-05), Senators Ben Cardin (D-MD) and Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), and Congressmen Dutch Ruppersberger (MD-02), John Sarbanes (MD-03), Kweisi Mfume (MD-07), Anthony Brown (MD-04), Jamie Raskin (MD-08), and David Trone (MD-06) today announced $43,027,768 in federal funding for rural health care providers across Maryland who serve rural Medicaid, Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and Medicare beneficiaries for expenses related to COVID-19.

Last Friday, the House passed the Build Back Better Act and sent it to the Senate for action. Along with the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act that was signed into law last week, this legislation is a critical portion of President Biden’s Build Back Better Agenda and will help families across the state of Maryland by directly lowering everyday costs and setting more of our families up for success.

Last week, President Joe Biden signed the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act into law. This law, brought to the House Floor by Congressman Steny H. Hoyer, and championed by Congressional Democrats, makes historic investments in modernizing and repairing Maryland’s infrastructure and will create good-paying jobs and expand economic opportunity for Maryland businesses.
