WASHINGTON, DC — Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) delivered the following remarks today at a press conference after a meeting on the federal response to the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse alongside the Maryland Congressional Delegation, Governor Wes Moore, U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Commanding General LTG Scott Spellmon, and other officials. LEONARDTOWN, MD — As part of House Democrats' and the Regional Leadership Council's Investing in America Week of Action, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) met with the Southern Maryland Resource Conservation and Development Board (RC&D) for a briefing on the Living Shoreline and Terrapin Habitat Restoration Project. This critical conservation effort was made possible by a $2,428,200 grant from the National Coastal Resilience Fund (NCRF).

NANJEMOY AND EAGLE HARBOR, MD — Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) met with leaders from YESS! of Charles County and Eagle Harbor town government to discuss how over $800,000 in federal grants made possible by President Biden’s Investing in America agenda is expanding clean water access for rural families in Nanjemoy and cleaning up legacy pollution in Eagle Harbor.

SOUTHERN MARYLAND — This week, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) received a briefing and tour at two airports in Southern Maryland – Maryland Airport in Charles County and St. Mary’s Regional Airport in St. Mary’s County. As part of the Regional Leadership Council’s Investing in America Week of Action, Congressman Hoyer met with airport officials and leaders from St. Mary’s County to discuss how federal funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is improving safety and upgrading transportation infrastructure in Southern Maryland.

Hoyer met with pharmacists and medical providers at Greater Baden Medical Services during the Regional Leadership Council’s Investing in America Week of Action to discuss the transformational health care savings made possible by the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and American Rescue Plan (ARP). As Majority Leader, Congressman Hoyer worked closely with President Biden and House Democrats to bring both the IRA and ARP to the House Floor.
