All veterans, no matter where they live, should have access to high-quality health care, and todays announcement that the VA plans to open a new CBOC in Charlotte Hall will ensure that Southern Maryland veterans have access to the services they need close to home.

Thanks to this grant awarded to Three Oaks Center, nearly 200 veteran families in Southern Maryland will have the supportive services needed to stay in their homes or transition to permanent housing. We must do more to honor our commitment to veterans and their families here in Maryland and throughout the country, and I will continue working to ensure they have the support and resources they earned and deserve.

Manufacturing is a bright spot in our economy, and I am committed to strengthening this industry through Democrats Make It In America jobs plan. One component of the Make It In America plan calls for strategic investments that will allow us to out-innovate our competitors, and this grant will help fund research to do just that. By making investments in AGV research, we can help manufacturers become more efficient and reduce costs so that they can expand, create jobs, and remain competitive.

This week, I introduced additional Make It In America bills and Im pleased I could update my Advisory Committee and discuss how these bills will help grow our economy and support job creation here in Maryland and throughout the U.S. I want to thank the Committee for all they do to help us Make It In America and for providing their guidance and feedback on how this comprehensive jobs plan can ensure Maryland businesses and families succeed.

Democrats introduced a comprehensive jobs plan two years ago to get more Americans back to work by creating the right conditions for manufacturing businesses toinvest, expand and hire. Our plan, called "Make It in America," aims to revitalize our manufacturing sector in order to increase economic competitiveness and create jobs that wont be shipped overseas.

Behind Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer (Md.), the lawmakers have attached a handful of proposals some old, some new to their years-old "Make it in America" package, which is designed to create jobs and promote exports by strengthening trade enforcement, hiking infrastructure spending and eliminating tax benefits for companies that move jobs overseas.

Repeal it and replace it. For the 31st time we have a repeal with no replacement. No alternative. No protection offered by my Republican colleagues. Not one. You could of course introduce legislation that said, we're going to repeal and replace with this. You haven't done it. You haven't done it. So the American people have no idea.
