I'm pleased that the House of Representatives began consideration of the Moving Forward Act today.

As the federal Congressional delegation, we strongly support the State of Maryland’s efforts to begin the long road to recovery during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Today I brought to the House Floor the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Enhancement Act. This important legislation will strengthen the Affordable Care Act, and ensure more Marylanders have access to quality, affordable health care.

Mr. Speaker, I rise in strong support of this bill, and I thank Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton and her extraordinary quest, keeping her eye on the prize to make sure that the citizens she represents have full citizenship and have our respect.

Americans across the country are speaking out and demanding action to address the crisis of systemic racism and police brutality.

We are going to pass a bill in the House of Representatives that says those who happen to live within these three quarters and a river are full citizens of America and should be accorded, therefore, the full rights of citizenship in our country.

Black lives matter, and Congress has a moral responsibility to address the crisis of racial profiling and police brutality.
