Hoyer (MD-05) joined Governor Wes Moore, Lieutenant Governor Aruna Miller, Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD), Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), County Executive Angela Alsobrooks, Congressman John Sarbanes (MD-03), Congressman Kweisi Mfume (MD-07), Congressman David Trone (MD-06), and Congressman Glenn Ivey (MD-04) at a press conference following their consultation with the General Services Administration (GSA) to advocate for relocating the FBI to Maryland. WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) provided testimony to the Committee on House Administration as part of their Member Day Hearing. Congressman Hoyer’s testimony focuses on his ongoing efforts to improve pay and benefits for House staff. Below is the testimony he submitted to the record:

"I join people throughout America and around the world in mourning the loss of Judy Heumann – a transformative leader in the disability rights movement.  Living in a wheelchair ever since she contracted polio at a young age, Judy was adamant that her condition was not a tragedy.  The societal barriers she faced because of her condition, however, were.  An instrumental advocate for Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, which prohibited federal discrimination against people with disabilities, she sought to redefine how the public perceives those living with disabilities

WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) joined Senators Ben Cardin (D-MD) and Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), and Congressmen Dutch Ruppersberger (MD-02), John Sarbanes (MD-03), Kweisi Mfume (MD-07), Jamie Raskin (MD-08), David Trone (MD-06), and Glenn Ivey (MD-04) in announcing that the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act has delivered $38,000,000 in Federal Aviation Administration funding for improvements to Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall (BWI) Airport.
