Raskin (MD-08), and David Trone (MD-06) today in announcing a new federal grant of $800,000 for the restoration of oyster reefs that are vital to the health of the Chesapeake Bay.

Today, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) delivered remarks at an event unveiling the official portrait of the late Congressman Elijah Cummings. Congressman Cummings chaired the Government Oversight and Reform Committee from January of 2017 until his death on October 17, 2019. The portrait will hang in its final resting spot in the Rayburn House Office Building’s Government Oversight and Reform Committee hearing room named after the late Congressman Cummings. Today, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) joined Senators Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) and Ben Cardin (D-MD) and Congressmen Dutch Ruppersberger (MD-02), John Sarbanes (MD-03), and Kweisi Mfume (MD-07) announced $2,844,230 in federal funding to support projects at museums, libraries, and educational institutions across Maryland. The funding, which is administered by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), comes from annual appropriations legislation and the American Rescue Plan, both of which the lawmakers fought to pass.
