Hoyer Statement on National Night Out

WHITE PLAINS, MD – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) released the following statement today in recognition of National Night Out, an annual community-building event that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie in communities across the country:

“Our communities are safer when businesses, individuals, local officials, law enforcement, and neighborhood organizations take the time to know and understand one another,” said Congressman Hoyer. “On National Night Out, local officers and Marylanders have the opportunity to engage in a way that brings our community closer together. It's crucial that we continue to promote open dialogue and build strong relationships between law enforcement and Fifth District families under positive circumstances so that we can ensure our community members feel safe and our officers receive the recognition they deserve.”
