The alarming rise in maternal and infant mortality across the country – especially among communities of color – demands swift and urgent action.

As always, I am incredibly proud to join you to honor the men and women from Southern Maryland who have worn the uniform of our country and served under our flag.

Specifically, the Members called on Governor Hogan to issue an executive order directing the Maryland Occupational Safety and Health (MOSH) agency to develop and implement an enforceable emergency temporary standard (ETS) to prevent, contain, and mitigate community spread of COVID-19.

Earlier today, the Supreme Court heard oral arguments in California v. Texas, a Republican-led case to strike down the Affordable Care Act and its protections.

The economic crisis brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic has left many Maryland families strapped for cash and unable to afford basic home repairs.

Today, Maryland crossed a devastating milestone and surpassed 150,000 COVID-19 cases. It is clear that this virus is aggressively spreading throughout our state, and disproportionately impacting communities of color.
