Staying Vigilant Against COVID-19

As Maryland families make their holiday plans, I strongly encourage them to keep the ever worsening COVID-19 pandemic top of mind. The number of COVID-19 cases in our state continues to grow at an alarming rate. Everyone must remain vigilant and take actions to slow the spread of the virus, including always wearing a mask when leaving your home, maintaining social distancing, and washing your hands regularly.

COVID-19 testing is available throughout the Fifth District, and results are usually available within a few days. Click here to find a testing location near you

I also encourage Marylanders to opt in to notifications from MD COVID Alert or download the app to quickly receive notice if they have been exposed to COVID-19. Find out how to receive notifications here

Additionally, I know that the ongoing pandemic has significantly impacted the mental health of many in our state. If you or a loved one are struggling, call 211 or text your zip code to 898-211. Assistance is available 24/7 and in over 180 languages. Click here to learn more about the assistance 211 Maryland can provide

Many individuals throughout our nation are experiencing pandemic fatigue. But it is critically important that we continue to take the necessary steps to stop the spread of COVID-19 in our communities.

As always, I encourage all Fifth District residents to continue to share their concerns and insights with me by contacting my office or connecting with me on FacebookTwitter, or Instagram. If you need assistance with a federal agency, please click here.

Sincerely Yours,
Steny H. Hoyer
