WASHINGTON, DC - Last night, Congressman Steny Hoyer signed a petition to force the full House of Representatives to consider H.R. 548, the Survivor Benefits Improvement Act; a bipartisan proposal to immediately end the benefit reduction received by a veteran's spouse when they turn 62 and protect the retirement benefits earned by military retirees.________________________________________________________________________

5TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT - Congressman Steny Hoyer today helped volunteers in Prince Georges, Anne Arundel, Charles, and Calvert counties to rebuild and repair homes for low-income residents, and later joined volunteers for a celebratory picnic in St. Marys County at the end of the day. Today was National Rebuilding Day, organized by Rebuilding Together with Christmas in April, the largest volunteer home rehabilitation organization in America.________________________________________________________________________

LA PLATA, MD - Congressman Steny Hoyer today visited the College of Southern Maryland (CSM) to announce almost $500,000 in federal funds he secured for business incubation programs supported by CSM and the Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO) Business Incubation Initiative to fund the further development of the existing incubators in Charles and Calvert Counties.
