WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) hosted his Annual Academy Tea at the Library of Congress where he announced the names of 21 Fifth District students appointed to the United States Service Academies. The students have accepted offers to the Air Force Academy, the Merchant Marine Academy, the Military Academy at West Point, the Naval Academy, and the Coast Guard Academy. All of the service academies require a nomination from an authorized nominating source.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) and U.S. Senators Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) and Ben Cardin (D-MD) announced that the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is restarting the Global Ecosystem Dynamics Investigation (GEDI) for climate change research on the International Space Station (ISS). It was initially scheduled for de-orbiting in early 2023 in order for a Department of Defense (DOD) technology demonstration, STP-H9, to take its dock.
