WASHINGTON DC – Today, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05), U.S. Senators Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) and Ben Cardin (D-MD) and Congressmen Dutch Ruppersberger (MD-02), John Sarbanes (MD-03), Kweisi Mfume (MD-07), Jamie Raskin (MD-08), David Trone (MD-06), and Glenn Ivey (MD-04) announced $1,375,686 for the Maryland Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) to support local small- and medium-sized manufacturing businesses and create job opportunities in Maryland.

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) delivered the following remarks last night during the markup of the Appropriations Fiscal Year 2024 Homeland Security and Legislative Branch Bills. During his remarks, Rep. Hoyer urged bipartisan support for an amendment to allow Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients to be employed on Capitol Hill. WASHINGTON, DC – This morning, members of the Regional Leadership Council (RLC) and its chair, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05), met with U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Denis McDonough for a conversation about ongoing efforts to implement policies and programs established by the Investing in America Agenda, made up of the historic legislation Democrats enacted last Congress – including the Sergeant First Class (SFC) Heath Robinson Honoring our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act.

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) announced the winner of the 2023 Congressional Art Competition for Maryland’s Fifth District. Ryan Hatch, a sophomore at Leonardtown High School, will have his artwork displayed in the Capitol building for one year along with other winning submissions from districts across the country.

WASHINGTON, DC — The House Appropriations Committee Republicans today released the draft fiscal year 2024 Financial Services and General Government funding bill, which will be considered in subcommittee tomorrow. The legislation makes communities less safe and enables individuals to take advantage of hardworking people, commit fraud, and sell dangerous products.
