I am deeply disappointed by Governor O'Malley's veto of this legislation, which passed the Maryland General Assembly with a strong, veto-proof majority. Senators Mikulski and Cardin and I supported the legislation and urged the Governor to sign it.

Hoyer (MD-5)announced that the House of Representatives has issued a one month delay in the deadline for submitting entries for the first annual Congressional science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) academic competition, the House Student App Challenge, for high school students in Maryland's Fifth Congressional District.
