“Today, I was pleased to meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his second visit to the United States Capitol. We discussed the important progress that the people of Ukraine have made to repel Vladimir Putin's vicious, criminal invasion of their sovereign democratic nation. President Zelenskyy also made clear what America and our allies throughout the free world must do to support Ukrainians' defense and offense in this pivotal conflict and warned us of the dire peril of failing to act. House leadership expressed overwhelming bipartisan support for the Ukrainians because their victory is crucial not only to preserving our founding principles but also to protecting our national security.

“As I emphasized in my remarks on the House Floor yesterday, we must do whatever it takes to ensure that Ukraine prevails over Russia in this fight for the future of democracy. Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong Un, Xi Jinping, and the dictators of the world are watching what we do next. Our Congress, country, and coalition of freedom-loving peoples around the world need to stand united in defense of our sacred democratic values. That means giving the Ukrainians whatever military materiel, humanitarian aid, and political support necessary to defeat Russia. I will keep pushing my colleagues in the House, Democrats and Republicans alike, to work together to help achieve that essential victory. With a difficult winter approaching, we must not lose our sense of urgency on this issue. Ukrainians are defending the frontline of freedom in a global struggle between democracy and autocracy. Our success depends not only on Ukrainian courage but also on our continued commitment.”
