Hoyer Meets with the CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maryland

WASHINGTON, DC –Today on Capitol Hill, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-5) met with the CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maryland, Joy Hill. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maryland, located in North Beach, Maryland, brings programs and services to children ages 5 to 18.

"I was pleased to welcome Joy to Capitol Hill today and to hear about the positive things they are doing at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maryland," said Congressman Steny Hoyer. "As a proud Boys & Girls Clubs of America alumnus, I've been a strong advocate for the clubs in Congress. The work they are doing at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maryland – from afterschool mentoring programs and providing meals to leadership and team building in sports and recreation – is important to the children in Maryland's Fifth District. I look forward to continuing to work with Joy and her staff, and to support their efforts to make a real impact in the lives of our children."

Later today, Congressman Hoyer will be awarded with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America's "Champion of Youth" Award at an event in Washington, DC. He is being honored for his distinguished leadership and extraordinary commitment to the shared goals of encouraging all of our nation's young people to reach their full potential.
