Hoyer Hosts Luncheon With Outstanding Fifth District Educators
UPPER MARLBORO, MD – Today, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-5) hosted a luncheon to recognize 14 outstanding teachers and principals in the Fifth District. Among those who attended are the recipients of the Agnes Meyer Outstanding Teacher Award, County Teacher of the Year for Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles, St. Mary's, and Prince George's Counties, and the Washington Post Distinguished Educational Leadership Award.
"I'm proud that Maryland's public school system is rated among the best in the nation and there is no doubt that we have Maryland teachers to thank for that distinction,"stated Congressman Hoyer. "Each year, I am pleased to bring together exemplary teachers in the Fifth District, hear about their successes, challenges, and best practices, and discuss what Congress can do to support our nation's schools. I thank this year's honorees for joining me today and I congratulate them on their well-deserved recognition."
