Hoyer Congratulates Kevin Maxwell on Being Named Maryland Superintendent of the Year
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-5) released the following statement today congratulating Kevin Maxwell on being named Maryland Superintendent of the Year by the Public School Superintendents' Association of Maryland for his work as the Superintendent of Anne Arundel County Public Schools:
"I congratulate Kevin Maxwell on this well-deserved recognition. Maryland public schools are leading the nation, and it is due in no small part to the leadership of superintendents like him. Over the past seven years, he has worked diligently to close the achievement gap among students in Anne Arundel County and develop strong community partnerships. I'm proud that he has now returned to Prince George's County, where he began his career and served for 22 years as a teacher, principal, and administrator. I am optimistic he will replicate and build upon his success in Anne Arundel here in Prince George's, and I look forward to working with him to ensure more of our students succeed."
