Hoyer Celebrates Inauguration of St. Mary's College's President Dr. Tuajuanda Jordan

ST. MARY'S CITY, MD – Today, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-5) celebrated the inauguration of Dr. Tuajuanda Jordan as President of St. Mary's College of Maryland (SMCM) at a ceremony on the college's campus. Dr. Jordan, whose tenure began on July 1st, was named SMCM's seventh president in March. Congressman Hoyer currently serves on the StMary's College Board of Trustees.

"I am pleased to join in welcoming Dr. Jordan as president of St. Mary's College of Maryland," said Congressman Steny H. Hoyer. "In Dr. Jordan, we have found a president who believes strongly in the value of a liberal arts education and its power to disrupt in a way that creates new possibilities. The Board of Trustees of St. Mary's College chose an outstanding educator and administrator who recognizes the importance of math and science learning and how it complements the traditional liberal arts education in preparing well-rounded graduates ready to push the boundaries of our society as innovators."
