This afternoon, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) participated in the Fourth Annual HBCU STEAM Day of Action. Hosted by Rep. Alma Adams (NC-12), the event celebrates the important work HBCUs do to prepare students for successful careers. Congressman Hoyer is a founding Member of the Bipartisan Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Caucus. Below are his remarks as prepared for delivery.

Today, Congressman Steny Hoyer (MD-05) announced that Greater Baden Community Medical Services has been selected to join the Health Center COVID-19 Vaccine Program. Launched by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Health Center COVID-19 Vaccine Program distributes COVID-19 vaccines directly to HRSA-support health centers to ensure vaccines are distributed to underserved communities and those most affected by the ongoing pandemic.

Hoyer (MD-05) joined immigration advocates and CASA community members for a virtual townhall to discuss legislation he will bring to the House Floor the week of March 15 to protect Dreamers and those with TPS and DED status, and legislation to create a pathway to citizenship for undocumented farm workers.
