Hoyer Visits U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Headquarters
CAMP SPRINGS, MD – On Monday, February 12th, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) visited U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Headquarters in Camp Springs, Maryland to tour the new, consolidated headquarters and meet with USCIS personnel. In 2017, the General Services Administration (GSA) announced an agreement to consolidate the five USCIS locations into one, centralized facility. The consolidated headquarters opened in 2020 and is reducing maintenance expenses, saving tax-payer funds, and providing USCIS federal employees with the modern facility needed to efficiently and effectively do their jobs.

“I was pleased to visit the consolidated USCIS headquarters in Camp Springs,” said Congressman Hoyer after touring the headquarters. “This world-class facility is creating economic growth, bringing over 3,700 good-paying federal jobs to Prince George’s County. The GSA’s decision to consolidate USCIS into one central location is delivering the best value to taxpayers, while ensuring the federal employees at USCIS have the facility they deserve. I look forward to continuing to bring expanded federal investments to Maryland’s Fifth District, including securing funding for the new, consolidated FBI headquarters in Greenbelt, Maryland, which will bring thousands of jobs to our state.”
“USCIS is fortunate to provide the agency’s dedicated workforce with state-of-the-art facilities, critical technology and tools, and other resources to carry out our mission which has led to a 15% reduction in backlogs, the completion of more than 10 million cases in FY2023, and the ability to effectively respond to humanitarian challenges across the world,” said USCIS Director Ur M. Jaddou. “With the support of Congressman Hoyer, USCIS will continue to break down barriers in the immigration system, strengthen the agency’s commitment to the people we serve – including those in Maryland’s Fifth District, and uphold America’s promise as a nation of welcome and possibility with fairness, integrity, and respect for all we serve.”
