Hoyer Statement on Mitch Landrieu
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05), Chair of the Regional Leadership Council, released the following statement today on White House Senior Advisor and Infrastructure Coordinator, Mitch Landrieu, stepping down from his role:
“As Mitch Landrieu departs the Biden-Harris Administration after more than two years of tremendous service as White House Senior Advisor and Infrastructure Coordinator, I thank him on behalf of the Regional Leadership Council, House Democrats, and his many friends on Capitol Hill. He has been an indispensable partner and leader in our effort to implement the historic Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the rest of Democrats' Investing in America agenda.
“From bridges to roads, seaports to railroads, stronger power grids to expanded broadband access, we've announced 40,000 public infrastructure projects across 4,500 communities in every corner of the country. We owe that progress in no small part to Mitch Landrieu. An accomplished former Mayor, Mitch's common sense, solutions-oriented approach, and ability to bring people together was crucial to making progress on these projects in communities large and small.
“Our implementation effort will continue in 2024 and beyond. Just as the Regional Leadership Council was pleased to coordinate closely with Mitch on that mission, we look forward to maintaining our cooperation with his colleagues in the Biden-Harris Administration. We appreciate their continued commitment to implementing the transformative laws we enacted last Congress. Together, we will ensure that Democrats continue to deliver results for the American people.”
