Hoyer Statement on June Jobs Report

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) released the following statement today on the June jobs report: 

“The June jobs report released today shows the United States added another 209,000 jobs last month, continuing a trend of solid and steady job growth reflecting a renewed economic strength in America in the past two and a half years. The total jobs created since President Biden took office in January 2021 has reached a historic 13.2 million, and unemployment remains near its record low at ​3.6%. Today’s report also showed strong wage growth that, following recent news that inflation in America reached its lowest point in over two years, means take home pay is once again growing faster than inflation.

“Democrats in Congress, along with the Biden-Harris Administration, continue to build up our economy, create opportunities for working families, and strengthen the middle class. Our Investing in America agenda will help ensure that the positive trends we saw in today's jobs report continue long into the future.
