Hoyer Statement on H.R. 4984
WASHINGTON, DC — Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) released the following statement tonight after voting against H.R. 4984 – D.C. Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium Campus Revitalization Act:
“For years, Prince George's County has been proud to host the Washington Commanders and to support them however possible. That includes securing a massive $400 million investment from the Maryland Stadium Authority to help develop the Blue Line Corridor and revitalize the area surrounding FedEx Field. Prince George's County leaders are eager to work with the Commanders' new ownership team to ensure that our partnership continues. We are committed to building on these investments to promote the success of not only the team but the entire county. As a longtime advocate for D.C. home rule, I also recognize the importance of allowing the city to address pressing challenges facing its residents – including expanding access to green space, transportation, and affordable housing.”
