A MESSAGE FROM CONGRESSMAN HOYER

According to the Maryland Department of Health, of those who are eligible to receive the vaccine, 900,000 Marylanders remain unvaccinated. I am glad to see Maryland lead several other states in our vaccination efforts, with nearly 60 percent of Marylanders fully vaccinated and over 83 percent of our state having received their first dose – but we have more work to do. We must continue to close the vaccination gap and get more of our friends and loved ones protected from COVID-19. If you are eligible, and have yet to get the vaccine, you can sign up to get your shot today.

Vaccines are free, and all Marylanders 12 years of age and older are eligible to get vaccinated today. In addition, the CDC recommends COVID-19 vaccine booster shots for Marylanders 65 years of age and older, those with underlying medical conditions, and essential or health care workers. If any of these conditions apply to you, I encourage you to get your booster shot. I followed the recommendations of my doctor and received my booster shot last week. Lastly, if you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, testing is free and convenient. Click here to find a testing center near you.
