A MESSAGE FROM CONGRESSMAN STENY H. HOYER

I was proud to bring the Great American Outdoors Act to the House Floor last week and ensure its passage. This legislation permanently funds the Land and Water Conservation Fund, which has been used to protect and preserve some of Maryland's most treasured sites. Over the years, I've worked hard to protect the viewshed of George Washington's Mt. Vernon site through the creation of Piscataway Park as well as to protect the Patuxent Research Refuge, Douglas Point in Nanjemoy, and other sites throughout the state. The Land and Water Conservation Fund made all of that possible.
