Last year, Marylanders saw critical health care savings thanks to the American Rescue Plan, a transformative law I was proud to help move through the House and enact into law. On average, families saved a total of $300 a month on their health care premiums. These savings allowed households to access quality care with lower costs. With enactment of the historic Inflation Reduction Act, Democrats secured an extension of Affordable Care Act premium tax credits allowing more families to save on their health care coverage in the years ahead.
This year, as open enrollment season is underway, I urge you to shop for the health plan that best fits you and your family. Even if you already have health care coverage, a more affordable plan could be available to you. Sign into your Maryland Health Connection portal today to find lower-cost plans that are right for you. In order to be covered by January 2023, you must enroll by December 15th.
