NEWSLETTER: Make Sure You Are Counted in the 2020 Census

A MESSAGE FROM CONGRESSMAN STENY H. HOYER

Ensuring you, your family, and your friends are counted in the 2020 Census is critically important. An accurate Census count ensures that our communities have the resources needed to meet local challenges like fighting poverty, improving our schools, and expanding opportunity.

This week, the Trump Administration continued its blatant assault on our democracy by announcing that it will cease Census operations one month early. The Constitution mandates that every person in the U.S. be counted. However, only six in ten individuals have been counted thus far, and ceasing Census operations prematurely shortchanges our communities and is an affront to our democracy. It is imperative that every individual in our country be counted.

If you haven't completed your Census survey yet, please visit 2020Census.gov today to get counted. It takes less than 10 minutes to complete the Census survey, and in doing so you are ensuring that taxpayer resources can be distributed equitably and Congressional representation can be fairly apportioned.
