Hoyer Welcomes OPM Director John Berry to the Fifth District
PATUXENT RIVER, MD – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-5) released the following statement today, on the occasion of U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Director John Berry's visit to Patuxent River's Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Leadership Series event:
"I am pleased that U.S. Office of Personnel Management Director John Berry visited the Fifth District today to speak about the future of Federal recruitment and discuss how OPM is working to retain the best and brightest federal workforce. Director Berry was very involved with Pax River's BRAC issues in the 1990s, and his return to the facility today highlights the long-standing importance of Pax River in supporting our Nation's defense and security. With more than 62,000 federal employees residing in the Fifth District, it is extremely important that we continue to have an open dialogue on how we can best meet their needs and encourage continued service to our Nation. I want to thank Director Berry for visiting today, and I look forward to continuing to work with him to ensure support for our Federal civilian and military personnel in Maryland's Fifth District."
