September 22, 2015

BOWIE, MD – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-5) today visited Old Line Bank in Bowie to receive a tour of the bank's various departments and greet employees and customers for the Maryland Bankers Association's (MBA) Legislative Day. During his visit, he met with representatives from the bank and the MBA to discuss the priorities of community banks and the challenges they are facing.

"I was pleased to visit Old Line Bank, one of Maryland's leading community banks, and to thank the Maryland Bankers Association for the critical role their members play in our state's economy," said Congressman Steny Hoyer. "Maryland banks have always been anchors for our communities, providing capital for entrepreneurs and homeowners. They play an extraordinarily important role in our economy and in making the American dream possible for Marylanders. I look forward to continuing to work with the MBA to ensure that Congress is hearing the concerns of Maryland's community bankers and recognizes the important role they play in financing in our state."

The Maryland Bankers Association was founded in 1896 and is the leading advocate for Maryland banks and the banking industry. Its mission is to promote the strength and success of Maryland bank and bankers.
