Hoyer Visits J.F. Taylor in Lexington Park, Discusses Make It In America Jobs Plan

August 21, 2015

LEXINGTON PARK, MD – Today, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-5) toured J.F. Taylor, Inc., a company that provides Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) services to the U.S. military through their engineering, technical, and management support services. During his visit, he discussed the Make It In America jobs plan he's leading in Congress, which he is currently working to update to reflect today's economy.

"Today, I visited J. F. Taylor to learn more about the important work they are doing in St. Mary's County providing a range of quality products and services to their customers, including the U.S. Department of Defense," said Congressman Steny Hoyer. "Over the past five years, I have advocated for a jobs plan in Congress called "Make It In America" to strengthen our economy and create jobs here at home. However, the economy has changed significantly since 2010, which is why I'm hearing from economic experts, business and labor leaders, and local businesses on the challenges and opportunities they face today, and how the Make It In America plan should be updated to reflect today's environment. I was pleased to meet with representatives from J.F. Taylor to get their thoughts on what they – and other Fifth District companies – need to Make It In America."

J.F. Taylor was established in 1983, and its headquarters is located in Lexington Park, within three miles of NAVAIR's Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
