Hoyer Visits Bowie Interfaith Food Pantry
BOWIE, MD – Today, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-5) visited the Bowie Interfaith Food Pantry to greet volunteers and visitors as they prepare and distribute Thanksgiving meals to Prince George's County families. As the holiday season begins, the Bowie Food Pantry, like many area charitable organizations, is experiencing a significant increase in need over previous years.
"I am pleased to see our community come together in the spirit of Thanksgiving to help those who are less fortunate," stated Congressman Hoyer. "This is the worst recession any of us has ever lived through, and as we continue to recover, the millions of Americans still struggling to make ends meet are increasingly dependent on organizations like the Bowie Interfaith Food Pantry. I want to thank the Bowie Food Pantry, its volunteers, and other charitable organizations in our community, for their hard work and commitment to helping families in the Fifth District, not just during the holiday season, but throughout the entire year."
