Hoyer Visits Beltsville Manufacturing Company, Discusses Importance of Export-Import Bank

October 6, 2014

BELTSVILLE, MD-Today, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-5) toured Neocera, LLC, a manufacturing company in Beltsville that receives assistance from the Export-Import Bank to export its products. During the visit, he discussed his Make It In America plan, which includes a long-term reauthorization of the Export-Import Bank, and highlighted how the Export-Import Bank helps Maryland businesses grow and create jobs.

"This morning, I was pleased to visit Neocera's manufacturing facility to learn more about the innovative work they perform in Beltsville," stated Congressman Hoyer. "I have a jobs plan in Congress called ‘Make It In America' that focuses on strengthening domestic manufacturing, helping businesses expand and supporting the creation of well-paying jobs. Reauthorization of the Export-Import Bank is a key part of the Make It In America plan to help increase exports of U.S. manufactured goods to keep American businesses competitive in overseas markets."

"Over the past five years, the Export-Import Bank has supported 1.2 million private sector jobs, including 205,000 jobs in 2013, and nearly 90 percent of their transactions helped small businesses," continued Congressman Hoyer. "I'm pleased that Neocera has received more than $4 million in approved financing from the Export-Import Bank to help it compete around the world and expand to new markets. I hope that Congress will support the Make It In America plan so that more companies like Neocerra, LLC have the opportunity to expand, create jobs, and succeed right here in Maryland."

Neocera was founded in 1991 to commercialize technological expertise with ceramic thin films. It has become a reliable provider of capital equipment that applies critical technologies to meet emerging needs in high growth applications.
