Hoyer Visits BAE Systems to Discuss "Make It In America" Plan
LEXINGTON PARK, MD – Today, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-5) visited BAE Systems to discuss the Democrats' "Make It In America" plan and issues of importance to their business as they work to successfully compete in the global economy. Hoyer toured the facilities and addressed the employees working at the Lexington Park facility (click here to view a photo).
"In today's meeting, the representatives and employees of BAE Systems emphasized the desire of our local manufacturers to compete and succeed in the global economy, and I am committed to ensuring that they have the resources and support to do so," stated Congressman Hoyer. "The Democrats' Make It In America plan is an important initiative to strengthen American manufacturing and the well-paying jobs it creates, and to ensure that companies like BAE Systems can continue to support local jobs and strengthen our economy."
BAE Systems is a global defense and security company with approximately 40,000 US employees and a total of 100,000 employees worldwide. The company delivers a full range of products and services for air, land and naval forces, as well as advanced electronics, security, information technology solutions and support services.

Locally, BAE Systems is a major contractor at St. Inigoes, providing support for the Aegis Program. BAE Systems (formerly TRACOR, then MARCONI) is one of the oldest contractors in St. Mary's County and has a history of supporting St. Inigoes dating back four decades. Today, they remain one of the largest contractor employers in the area, with nearly 1000 local workers.
