Hoyer Tours the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum's Shapell Family Collections, Conservation and Research Center
BOWIE, MD – Today, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) toured the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum's David and Fela Shapell Family Collections, Conservation, and Research Center.
"I was grateful for the opportunity to learn more about the critical preservation work done by the United States Holocaust Museum at the Shapell Family Collections, Conservation, and Research Center," said Congressman Hoyer. "This state-of-the-art facility works to preserve and honor the stories of Holocaust victims, pay tribute to the rescuers and resisters, and seek to educate all so that the horrors of the Holocaust may never be repeated. I thank the United States Holocaust Museum for the critical work they do to preserve the past and educate future generations."
Opened in April 2017, the 103,000 square-foot facility houses documents, photographs, film footage, and oral testimonies from the Holocaust, and is available to historians and researchers.
