Hoyer Tours Local Coca-Cola Plant, Discusses Support for Domestic Manufacturing
LA PLATA, MD – Today, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-5) toured a local Coca-Cola plant, received a briefing on the mission and philosophy of the company, and met with employees. During his visit Congressman Hoyer discussed his support for strengthening domestic manufacturing and job creation through the Make It In America plan.
"I'm pleased I could visit Coca-Cola today and learn more about their mission, including their local community sponsorship footprint and sustainability efforts," stated Congressman Hoyer. "In Charles County and across the U.S., Coca-Cola is bottling its product for local distribution, strengthening local job creation. During my discussions with the company's leadership team and employees, I spoke about the Make It In America jobs plan I am leading in Congress to strengthen manufacturing and support job creation here in the U.S. I will continue to pursue this plan so that we can ensure more businesses like Coca-Cola can make it in America and right here in Maryland."
The Make It In America plan, launched two years ago, aims to strengthen American manufacturing and create well-paying, middle-class jobs. In the coming weeks Congressman Hoyer will be re-launching the Make It In America plan for the 113th Congress with new proposals.
