Hoyer Statement on Resignation of OPM's Director Katherine Archuleta

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-5)released the following statement today after Katherine Archuleta announced her resignation as Director of the Office of Personnel Management:

“The resignation of Director Archuleta does not solve the fundamental problems at the Office of Personnel Management that led to these data breach incidents. It is unacceptable that millions of our dedicated federal workers and their families had their personal and sensitive information stolen at the hands of hackers. I look forward to working with the interim director, Beth Cobert, to resolve the issues with OPM’s systems and to ensure they are taking the necessary steps to prevent this from occurring again. Our federal employees and retirees deserve to know that their personal information is safe, secure, and not at risk of being compromised.”
