Hoyer Statement Recognizing National Day of Prayer
May 5, 2011
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-5) released the following statement today on National Day of Prayer:
"Today is a day to recognize the role that prayer has played throughout our nation's history. Since our nation's founding, we have turned to prayer time and time again as a source of comfort and strength. On this National Day of Prayer, Americans of all faiths come together to pray for the future of our nation. We also continue to pray for our troops and their families, as well as those who are still working to rebuild from devastating storms across the South. I also keep in my thoughts and prayers my constituents in the Fifth District of Maryland."
