Hoyer Statement on Pay Parity for 2022

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) released the following statement today after the Biden Administration announced that all federal employees will receive a 2.7% pay increase in 2022:

"I am pleased that President Biden has issued an alternative pay plan providing for a 2.7% pay increase in 2022 for federal employees, which is in line with his proposal earlier this year to provide an adjustment for military personnel and civil service employees, known as pay parity. The principle of pay parity recognizes the essential contributions that civil service and uniformed personnel make to our country. I continue to support fair pay for our civilian workforce, and President Biden's proposal achieves that goal and recognizes the hard work of the men and women who serve our country every day."
