Hoyer Statement on the Passing of Jaelynn Willey

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) released the following statement on the passing of Great Mills High School student Jaelynn Willey:

"I am praying for Jaelynn Willey and her family. For everyone in the Great Mills community, these past few days have been full of heartbreak. Jaelynn deserves to be remembered not for how her life was tragically taken but how she lived with grace and love, bringing joy to her brothers and sisters, and - as friends and family recalled - lighting up every room with a smile. As a nation we must come together to do more to prevent such acts of violence and to make our schools and communities safer from firearms."
