Hoyer Statement on the Passing of Former Maryland Delegate and Judge David Gray Ross
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-5) released the following statement today on the passing of former Maryland Delegate and Prince George's County Circuit Court Judge David Gray Ross:
"I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of my dear friend, former Delegate and Judge David Ross. It was a great honor to serve with David in the Maryland General Assembly, where he worked tirelessly on behalf of Prince George's County. He was an extraordinary man of integrity and always took a just and balanced approach as a Judge on the Prince George's County Circuit Court. He also served with distinction as commissioner of the Office of Child Support Enforcement during President Clinton's administration and on President Obama's Health and Human Services transition team.
"David will always be remembered for his support and involvement in the community, and I will always be grateful for his dedication and contributions to Prince George's County and our state. He and Jane instilled a great sense of public service in their two children, former Delegate Justin Ross and Abigail Hopper, who serves as Acting Director of the Maryland Energy Administration. I know his legacy will be carried on through their work. I join in mourning his passing, and my thoughts and prayers are with Jane, Justin, Abigail, and their family at this difficult time."
