Hoyer Statement on Maryland Delegation Meeting with Governor Martin O'Malley on State-Federal Priorities

Washington, DC---Congressman Hoyer (D-MD) and the entire Maryland Congressional delegation met today in with Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley in Washington, DC to discuss the state's 2008 federal priorities. Lieutenant Governor Anthony Brown and several members of the Governor's cabinet also attended. Among the topics covered were transportation, BRAC, the Chesapeake Bay, health care, education and homeland security.
"I want to thank Governor Martin O'Malley, Lieutenant Governor Anthony Brown and members of the Governor's Cabinet for traveling to Washington today to present the Maryland delegation with the state's 2008 federal priorities. The meeting provided a good opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities now facing the state and will enable us to determine how best to work together to improve the lives of all Marylanders. By leveraging the advantages of a strong state and federal partnership, it is my hope to continue, if not improve upon, our record of achievement as a delegation."
