Hoyer Statement on the Historic Inauguration of Governor Wes Moore
ANNAPOLIS, MD – Today, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) released the following statement on the inauguration of Wes Moore as the 63rd Governor of Maryland and Aruna Miller as Lieutenant Governor:
"Today is a proud day for the state of Maryland as we witness the beginning of Governor Wes Moore and Lieutenant Governor Aruna Miller's historic tenure. As leaders with vision, dedication, and unwavering persistence, they proved to hundreds of thousands across our great state that they are ready to make a transformative difference in the lives of Marylanders.
"Governor Moore has made it clear that he will lead an administration that will leave no one behind, and I will be glad to work alongside him in the days ahead to address the most pressing issues facing families in the Fifth District. I am confident that Governor Moore and Lt. Governor Miller will be leaders who serve all of our people, including vulnerable communities that need new opportunities to prosper. Together, they will responsibly manage our state's budget and invest in priorities like ending child poverty, creating more jobs and economic opportunities, making sure our neighborhoods are safer, and growing our education system so that every child can have the tools they need to succeed.
