Hoyer Statement on the Dallas Shootings

WASHINGTON, DC – CongressmanSteny H. Hoyer (MD-05) released the following statement today in response to the shootings in Dallas, Texas:
"I was heartbroken to learn of the horrifying shooting of police officers in Dallas. Nothing can justify such unspeakable violence against those who dedicate their lives to serving and protecting the public. The answer to recent tragedies is not more violence or to cast blame and hatred against police as a group. We must not allow the reprehensible acts of a few to mar the reputation of those in law enforcement who serve every day with professionalism and compassion. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those lost today and with the officers being treated for their injuries."
