Hoyer Statement on Award of USDA Low-Interest Loan for the Town of La Plata

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) released the following statement today after the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Office of Rural Development announced it would award an $11 million low-interest loan to the Town of La Plata to extend water and sewer service:

"I am pleased that the USDA Office of Rural Development has awarded the Town of La Plata with this low-interest loan to upgrade water and sewer service for 5,000 residential and non-residential properties. Many families and businesses in and around La Plata will benefit from this project, which will also spur economic growth in the area. I congratulate the Town of La Plata on today's announcement."
