Hoyer Statement on 1099 Bill
March 3, 2011
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-5) released the following statement today after the House passed a repeal of 1099 reporting requirements:
"I support the repeal of the new 1099 reporting requirements, and have voted for repeal in the past. But due to the manner in which this bill is paid for, I cannot support today's legislation, as it would increase the burden on middle-class families here in Maryland.
"The American people want Congress to come together and solve problems like this. I hope both sides can reach an agreement and pass a repeal bill that doesn't hurt the middle class while lifting this burden on small businesses."
