Hoyer Staffer Named Young Careerist of the Year
"I am extremely proud of Candice and her continued service to our district, state, and nation," Hoyer said. "Our community has recognized what I have known for some time—Candice is a committed, hard-working professional who dedicates herself to helping others."
The Young Careerist Program recognizes the accomplishments of successful women or men and introduces them to the mission and vision of Business and Professional Women. The program involves the selection of a young careerist to represent the State Federation at the National Conference. The selection process begins with a competition at the local level, proceeds to the district competition and then to the state level where a representative is chosen at a statewide event, usually at the state's annual conference.
Beginning in 1964, the Young Careerist Program involves a competitive selection process within 2000 local organizations, 250 districts, and 53 state federations. Candidates are judged on written and biographical information, a judge's interview, group interaction, and prepared topical speeches.
Daniels was officially honored by the Prince George's County Business and Professional Women during a ceremony at the Marlborough Country Club last night.
"It is indeed an honor and privilege to be recognized by a wonderful organization such as SPG/BPW as their Young Careerist," Daniels said. "BPW has done an outstanding job in promoting equality for all women in the workplace. They should be applauded for the wonderful contributions they have made to our community as a whole."
