Hoyer Speaks with NASA Astronaut Richard "Ricky" R. Arnold II
WASHINGTON, DC –Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) spoke with NASA Astronaut Richard "Ricky" R. Arnold II this afternoon to wish him well in advance of his upcoming spaceflight. Astronaut Arnold was raised in Bowie, Maryland, and was selected as a Mission Specialist by NASA in 2004. He is a member of the Expedition 55/56 Space Station crew, and is expected to launch in March 2018. This will be his second spaceflight.
"I join in wishing my fellow Terp, Astronaut Arnold, the best of luck on his upcoming spaceflight," said Congressman Hoyer. "I'm very proud that an impressive Marylander such as Astronaut Arnold will be representing the United States on this upcoming mission. I look forward to learning more about the important research that he and his fellow astronauts will conduct during their time on the International Space Station, and I wish them success on their upcoming flight."
