Hoyer: President Biden's Executive Order Will Strengthen Our Federal Workforce

January 22, 2021

WASHINGTON, DC - Congress Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) released the following statement today after President Joe Biden signed an executive order to reverse former President Trump's harmful Schedule F Executive Order and other executive actions taken by the previous Administration that undermined the federal workforce:

"The executive order signed by President Biden today is a welcome step that will restore and strengthen our nation's federal workforce. Over the past four years, former President Trump and his Administration sought to undermine and demoralize the men and women who serve the American people with distinction. The actions taken by President Biden today should demonstrate to our federal civilian employees that their work is important and respected, and will be protected.

"I'm glad President Biden took this important action within the first few days of his Administration. I look forward to working with the Biden-Harris Administration to ensure the civil service system remains a professional, nonpartisan, competitive workforce that serves the American people."
