Hoyer Meets with the Prince George's County Council

June 17, 2019

UPPER MARLBORO, MD - This afternoon, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) participated in a meet and greet with the Prince George's County Council to discuss Democrats' legislative agenda in Congress.

"I was glad to join the Prince George's County Council this afternoon and share with them some of the action Democrats have taken in Congress to improve the lives of Marylanders throughout the Fifth District," said Congressman Hoyer. "I'm proud to have taken action within the first six months of the 116th Congress to address issues important to Marylanders. As Majority Leader, I've brought to the House Floor legislation to restore our democracy and return government to the people; address health care and prescription drug costs; provide a pathway to citizenship to Dreamers and those with Temporary Protected Status and Deferred Enforcement Departure, ensure equal pay for equal work; implement commonsense gun violence prevention; and reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act."

"I look forward to continuing to work with the Council to make life better for families in Prince George's County," continued Congressman Hoyer. "I'll continue to work with Chairman Turner and the Council to support students and teachers; keep our streets safe; expand access to quality, affordable health care; and ensure our County remains friendly to businesses so that Marylanders can get ahead."
